Memory of Nations Drupal Website project recognized as world class.
Bratislava, Slovakia, 12th April 2019 -- The first Drupal International Splash Awards took place on 10th April 2019 at DrupalCon Seattle and recognize the best Drupal projects in the world. The Slovak technologic company Made It Digital won a Drupal International Splash Award for its project with Memory of Nations(case study). And with only ten winners, one in each category, for Made It Digital to win this prestigious award is a great achievement.
The Memory of Nations project helps to preserve historical memories of bravery of the people during the holocaust and other wartime atrocities. Such high quality memories form strong messages for humankind.
The moral and ethical dimension of the project was very important to Made It Digital.
The website enables researchers and volunteers from Czech NGO Post Bellum to preserve valuable memories of the witnesses of atrocities. The website required a technologically complex solution with over 8000 witnesses in 14 languages and 9000 researchers who are using the system on a daily basis to curate 70,000 photographs and 30,000 video recordings.
An international committee evaluated hundreds of interesting projects from all over the world and Made It Digital was nominated in two categories: Social/Community and Non-profit. In the Non-profit category Made It Digital won the first place above projects for WWF, YMCA & The US Naval Institute.
